Telangana HC orders caste body not to construction on land allotted by government

Telangana High Court on Monday directed the Vishwa Balija Kapu Thelaga Vontari Thurpukapu Sanghala Samakhya not to raise any further construction over 6.35 acres of land in Khanamet of Serilingampally in Rangareddy district. The land was allotted to the Samakhya by the BRS government in 2023 for construction of a community hall.

A bench of Acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice Renuka Yara, hearing a PIL petition challenging allotment of the land to the Samakhya, made it clear that any construction undertaken in the said land would be subject to the outcome of the PIL plea which was filed by Sunkara Naresh.

The same petitioner earlier filed a PIL plea in 2021 questioning the allotment of five acres of land each to All India Velama Association and Kamma Vari Seva Senghala Samakhya by BRS government. On June 28, 2023, the division bench headed by the then Chief Justice stayed allotment of the land. The bench said that constructions made on the said lands would be subject to the final outcome of the PIL petition. The same order was extended to the Samakhya which was allotted 6.35 acres of land. Both the matters were posted to March 7 for next hearing.
