Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (February 10, 2025) said his bilateral visit to France will provide an opportunity to review the progress on 2047 Horizon Roadmap for India-France strategic partnership, ahead of his scheduled departure to Paris.

Mr. Modi will arrive in Paris on the Monday evening to co-chair the AI Action summit along with French President Emmanuel Macron and also for bilateral talks. The summit is a gathering of the world leaders and global tech CEOs. “I look forward to co-chairing the AI Action Summit, where we will exchange views on collaborative approach to AI technology for innovation and larger public good in an inclusive, secure and trustworthy manner,” he said in a statement, ahead of his visit.

The two leaders will also visit Mazargues War Cemetery maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in Marseille and pay tribute to the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers in World War I.

They will inaugurate the newest Consulate General of India in Marseille.

Post the summit, Mr. Modi is scheduled to travel to the U.S. at the invitation of President Donald Trump. He is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Mr. Trump and interact with business leaders and members of the Indian community. This will be Mr. Modi’s first visit since the inauguration of the second presidential term of Mr. Trump on January 20.

“I look forward to meeting my friend, President Trump. Although this will be our first meeting following his historic electoral victory and inauguration in January, I have a very warm recollection of working together in his first term in building a Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the U.S,” he noted.

The Prime Minister said the visit to the U.S. will be an opportunity to build upon the successes of the two countries’ collaboration and develop an agenda to further elevate and deepen the partnership in the areas of technology, trade, defence, energy, and supply chain resilience. “We will work together for the mutual benefit of the people of our two countries and shape a better future for the world,” he added.
