Development possible only with double engine govts, says Kishan Reddy

“There has been fantastic development wherever double engine governments were led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), both in states and the Centre,” claimed Telangana BJP president and Union Minister of Coal & Mines G. Kishan Reddy.

“The Congress has got zero seats in the Delhi Assembly elections. It is sure to lose badly whenever Assembly elections are held in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka or Telangana,” he said at a press conference in Sangareddy on Friday.

No funds

Mr. Reddy, who has been campaigning for the MLC elections in Telangana, has further said that the government led by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) earlier, and now by the Congress, has not been releasing funds to Gram Panchayats. Whatever works are being done for roads, water, and sanitation, are because of funds from the Centre.

He challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and senior BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao for a public debate on the contribution of the Modi Government in the last 10 years for Telangana and reeled out works pertaining to national highways, railways, fertilizer plant and others, to buttress his claims.

“People suffered due to large-scale corruption during the BRS rule. They are being cheated even during the present regime with unfilled promises of stipend for the unemployed, women, farmers and others,” he maintained.

The BJP leader was of the opinion that every section is disappointed with the Congress Government and wanted the party to capitalise on the same during the MLC polls scheduled for February 27.

The party is contesting in all the three MLC seats: Karimnagar-Nizamabad – Medak- Adilabad Graduates (Anji Reddy), Karimnagar-Nizamabad – Medak – Adilabad Teachers (M. Komaraiah) and Nalgonda -Warangal – Khammam Teachers (Sarottham Reddy).

“We promise to work for the development of Telangana as per the wishes of the agitators for a separate State, teachers, students and employees,” he asserted. Mr. Reddy also paid homage to the Pulwama martyrs of the Armed forces.

He recalled that party stalwarts such as V. Rama Rao, Dr. Rajeshwar Rao, DSP Reddy, and P.V. Chalapathi Rao were elected for the Council earlier and had made their mark by raising their voice on behalf of the common people. But, BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao regime’s strategy to lure the Congress MLCs had an adverse effect on the Council’s functioning, added the Union Minister.

At a separate press conference in Kamareddy, Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman has lambasted the State Government for failing to fill up one lakh jobs and not organising coaching camps for the unemployed youth. The financial condition in Telangana is in a bad shape and even the ruling party leaders have been confessing about inability to fulfil promises made.
