BJP wants ₹30,000 per acre compensation for dried crops

Telangana BJP has demanded the government to give a compensation of ₹30,000 per acre to the farmers whose crops have dried up due to lack of water and also implement the Prime Minister’s farm insurance scheme ‘Fasal Bima Yojana’ in the State without any further delay.

General Secretary G. Premender Reddy and other leaders visited the affected agriculture farms at Kommaigudem village, Ramannapet mandal in Nalgonda district, and also urged the government to immediately disburse the ‘Rythu Bharosa’ financial assistance scheme of ₹12,000 an acre as promised during the elections.

Similarly, the Congress regime should provide the financial assistance assured to the tenant farmers and take up the irrigation canal repairs in the region. Mr. Reddy has taunted Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for taking time to participate in conclave of Opposition leaders on delimitation, but not bothering to see for himself the farmers’ woes on account of dried up crops. The party will intensify its agitation if the government does not provide succour to the farmers, he added.

Vote-based politics

In a press conference at the State office, party spokespersons S. Prakash Reddy, N.V. Subash and SC Morcha national secretary S. Prakash Reddy, condemned the filing of a case against Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar for his comments on BRS leaders alleged involvement in certain questionable deals and claimed that the charges were not new.

“Mr. Sanjay Kumar has only reminded people about past allegations. If the BRS leaders are innocent, they should seek a probe into the charges which were repeated by Congress leaders, including Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. In any case, the BRS leaders have been accused of many corrupt acts and their 10-year rule has been totally mired in corruption and shady land deals,” they charged.

Hence, it was amusing to listen to BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao criticising the BJP and Mr. Sanjay Kumar. “His comments on Hindu beliefs and customs also reflected his ‘vote bank politics’ mindset. Both BRS and Congress are the same and their campaign on delimitation is only meant to divide the country by region and caste but they will not succeed,” they said. In another press meet, spokesperson Rani Rudrama Devi has sought an apology from KTR for his alleged remarks against the Hindus and its customs during a party meeting.
