Sarvepalli MLA and former Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy encouraged students to actively participate in social service and contribute towards strengthening the democratic system. He was addressing the students during the district-level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 at the Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) Kakutur campus in Nellore district on Monday.
Along with VSU Vice-Chancellor (V-C) Allam Srinivasa Rao, the MLA inaugurated the two-day event, which is being organised under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS). Around 70 students from Prakasam, Nellore, and Chittoor districts took part in the programme and delivered speeches.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA emphasised that students are the foundation of the nation’s future and play a key role in its development. He urged every student to work towards the betterment of the country. He highlighted that programmes such as the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament will help in fostering leadership qualities among the youth. He further advised the students to set clear goals and added that such gatherings help shape their thoughts and perspectives.
The V-C urged students not only to focus on academics but also to take up social responsibilities. He emphasised that the youth of today should be ready to play a key role in nation-building by balancing knowledge, skills, and ethics. He assured that the university would always support the growth and development of youth by organising such programmes and encouraged them to make best use of the available opportunities.
