376 grievances addressed at Army Veterans’ Outreach in Madikeri


Under the aegis of the HQ Southern Command, the Army Veterans’ Outreach was conducted in Madikeri on Monday for veterans, veer naris, and their dependents from Madikeri and Virajpet in the Kodagu district.

Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, GOC-in-C, Southern Command, Lt. Gen. Karanbir Singh Brar, PVSM, AVSM, GOC, Dakshin Bharat Area, and Major General V.T. Mathew, AVSM, YSM, GOC, K&K Sub Area were present. 

Lt. Gen. Dhiraj Seth interacted with the pensioners and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the proud veterans, veer naris, and their families. He acknowledged their sacrifices and service to the nation.

He reiterated the commitment of the Indian Army to look after its veterans and their families. As many as 565 veterans and veer naris attended the outreach.

Officials from seven different record offices of Southern Command and PCDA, Bengaluru, resolved 376 grievances related to SPARSH and Pensionary Entitlements on the spot. The medical and dental team provided medical aid and treatment to 72 patients.

In addition, the cancer screening camp was also conducted and about 19 patients were screened. The officials from ZRO, Bengaluru, zilla sainik welfare and resettlement office, Madikeri, and the army welfare placement organisation briefed the veterans about various welfare schemes, re-employment, and recruitment processes.

The event was well received by the veterans fraternity, a press release stated.
