The Huliyar police of Tumakuru district on Sunday arrested a labourer from Koratagere and recovered stolen valuables worth ₹10.05 lakh from her.
Alamelamma, 25, used to travel in crowded buses and steal valuables from passengers.
On January 9, she stole gold valuables from a passenger named Rajeshwari who was travelling by bus. Based on the complaint, the police kept a watch on the accused and tracked her down using the local intelligence network.
With her arrest, the police cracked two cases. Further investigations are on to ascertain the accused’s criminal background.
