Three young men were killed on the spot after the rider lost control of the motorcycle he was riding and hit a vehicle parked by the roadside on the national highway near Belur in Dharwad district.
The accident occurred late on Wednesday night.
The deceased have been identified as 18-year_old Mohammed Zubari Ahmed Bagewadi, 18-year-old Irfan Husseinsab Sangolli of Kotur village in Dharwad taluk and 23-year-old Shivaraj Hanumappa Mudakannavar of Heggeri in Dharwad taluk.
All the three were proceeding to Dharwad on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway, when Mohammed Zubair, with Shivaraj and Irfan as pillion riders, hit a vehicle parked by the roadside near a petrol bunk near Belur.
Due to the impact of the collision, all the three died on the spot, the police said.
Garag Police have registered a case.
