A 57-year-old police head constable was killed when a speeding car knocked down his motorcycle while he was on his way to work near Sadahalli gate in Chikkajala on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Prakash M.V., attached to Channarayapatna police station. Due to the impact of the accident, Prakash was thrown up and he crashed on the car’s windscreen sustaining severe head injuries.
He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Prakash was wearing a half-helmet at the time of the accident. The Chikkajala traffic police have registered a case of death due to negligence and rash and negligent driving against the car driver.
